olroper99 Report post Posted February 3, 2011 Hi all! I have a buddy who lives a couple hundred miles away. He wants a holster for this pistol but is too far away for me to get an acceptable pattern off the actual gun... And I don't have a dummy gun to make a holster from. Anyone know where I can get a proven pattern for one of these? Thanks! Russ

katsass Report post Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Well, Al Stohlman's book "How to Make Holsters" has a western style pattern in it for a 5 1/2" Ruger. To lengthen it shouldn't be much of a problem. Mike Edited February 3, 2011 by katsass
Killkenny Report post Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) I have the pattern I made for this threepersons holster. It was for a 4 3/4 barrel though so it would need some length. It is also a .32H&R but that shouldn't matter in your case. Some length could be left outta the holster if he doesn't want a closed bottom. I could trace it and fax it if ya get me a number. BTW, it's my first holster I made. Just finished my second, a thumb break for a 22/45. LK Edited February 4, 2011 by Killkenny
olroper99 Report post Posted February 4, 2011 Well thanks guys! I'm just going to order Stolmans book then. LK...thanks for your kind offer! I want this to fit pretty tight as he is going to have this mounted on a saddle and doesn't want a keeper strap on it. Something about practicing for mounted shooting???????? LOL! Haystacker Report post Posted February 6, 2011 My vote is to go out and buy a new gun. As my grandson said to me" Papa, you can't have too many guns". What a great kid!
