Members blueflyer Posted February 3, 2011 Members Report Posted February 3, 2011 I am beginning to make sandals/flip-flops and am exploring the option of stamping out my patterns with a steel rule die. So far I have gotten an estimate for $150 each. The patterns are relatively simple. Is $150 a fair price or can I do better? I believe that tradesmen ought to get rewarded for their skillset but I also don't like getting taken. Thanks for the advice. Quote
Members Dink Posted February 4, 2011 Members Report Posted February 4, 2011 Chris at Pro dies can make your dies which I do not believe would be very complex in shape for $1.80 per inch of rule used, so for the sake of easy math say your sole dies is basically 12" long and 3" wide your total rule used is 30" x $1.80 this is a $54 dollar die. They do a good job and gurantee the work. 720-341-3259. You can also see some dies at www.prorodeooriginals.com Thanks Dink I am beginning to make sandals/flip-flops and am exploring the option of stamping out my patterns with a steel rule die.
