blueflyer Report post Posted February 3, 2011 I am beginning to make sandals/flip-flops and am exploring the option of stamping out my patterns with a steel rule die. So far I have gotten an estimate for $150 each. The patterns are relatively simple. Is $150 a fair price or can I do better? I believe that tradesmen ought to get rewarded for their skillset but I also don't like getting taken. Thanks for the advice.
Dink Report post Posted February 4, 2011 Chris at Pro dies can make your dies which I do not believe would be very complex in shape for $1.80 per inch of rule used, so for the sake of easy math say your sole dies is basically 12" long and 3" wide your total rule used is 30" x $1.80 this is a $54 dollar die. They do a good job and gurantee the work. 720-341-3259. You can also see some dies at www.prorodeooriginals.com Thanks Dink I am beginning to make sandals/flip-flops and am exploring the option of stamping out my patterns with a steel rule die.
