Members DCKNIVES Posted March 5, 2011 Members Report Posted March 5, 2011 Since virtually all of my work involves inlays, I line mine with veg-tan, and I glue them flesh to flesh.Dave Quote http://dcknivesandle...lademakers.com/
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted March 6, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted March 6, 2011 Veg-tan is generally the only thing I'll use for lining holsters. Chrome tanned leather has residual chromium salts from the tanning process and could damage the finish of a firearm. Members BigRiverLeather Posted March 8, 2011 Members Report Posted March 8, 2011 I use calfskin I picked up from Springfield Leather. Very soft and supple. Quote Big River Leather

From the grumpy old man: almost all of my holsters are made from two layers of veg tanned cow hide (usually shoulder leather), these, bonded flesh sides together. Although not technically a lining, the result is the same. Mike Quote NOTE TO SELF: Never try to hold a cat and an operating Dust buster at the same time!!
