newfiebackflip Report post Posted March 16, 2011 I just have a question that has been on my mind the last couple of days. When sewing or stitching something along the lines of a purse or bag etc and you want the stitching to remain hidden, how do you go about that? Is it simple as you sew with flesh side out and then just flip it right side out type of deal? Darren
Rayban Report post Posted March 16, 2011 You're on the right track.....but Uncle Al (that's how I affectionately refer to Al Stohlman) shows that you should add a folded-over welt between the two panels of leather being sewn together. I know it's in one of the books I have by him....I'll have to do a little research and get back to ya. Rg
RoaringBull Report post Posted March 17, 2011 Often times I will add only a strip of leather for a welt...only the high paying customers get the rolled welt!

Rg I actually by dumb luck picked up that book the other day when I dropped in to my local Tandy shop. Thanks for the replies guys!
