Fiebings Oil Dye + Wet Fingers = Dark Spots?

Recommended Posts

I dyed a few pieces with Fiebings Pro Oil Dye in Saddle Tan. After they had dried for a few days, I touched o couple pieces while my fingers had some water on them. it's been a couple days and the dark spots where the water was are still there. Think they'll go away? I'm not sure why this would even happen.

Thanks!

Just getting water stained I imagine. The tan is a really light dye so any stains will really show up as compared to the dark brown or something similar. I think since it sounds like you have not oiled or sealed anything yet that if you wet the entire piece and let it dry that it may go away.
