Members LilRay Posted April 12, 2011 Members Report Posted April 12, 2011 I'd like to know if I can get Eco Flow Saddle Tan to look like Aged natural leather? How might I go about doing this? Total newbie, sorry if this is silly. God Bless, Ray Quote Ray
Members billsreef Posted April 12, 2011 Members Report Posted April 12, 2011 If I was going for an aged natural look, I'd skip the die. A light coat of neatsfoot oil and day drying out under direct sunlight would naturally darken the leather a bit. Follow that up with some antique paste. Might want to use a resist before the antique paste, but possibly not. I'd play with some scrap to see what gives the best effect for what your looking for. Quote
Members CitizenKate Posted April 12, 2011 Members Report Posted April 12, 2011 Hi Ray, I like billsreef's suggestion, but to answer your original question about reducing EF dyes, just use water. You can also mix different colored dyes to get an infinite variety of new shades. Kate Quote
