LilRay Report post Posted April 12, 2011 Hello everybody, Forgive my lack of knowledge and experience with leathercraft, but I've come to realize something unusual to me as far as suppliers are concerned. I was reviewing a suppliers shipping policy this morning that read "Orders are shipped within 10 days". Is this common practice with leather shops? I'm used to ordering something and having tracking info within 48 hours at most. Before someone says, "Buy it local", I cannot. Closest leather shop to me is 100 miles away, I'm disabled and do not drive. So in essence I'll have to get EVERYTHING online. Who among the internet shops are quickest from point of sale to ship (in your experience)? In the future I'll be aware of such policy and plan accordingly, but out of sheer curiosity I'd like to know if that length of time is standard. God Bless, Ray
dirtclod Report post Posted April 12, 2011 Springfield Leather and Water House Leather both ship fast. I don't remember if they sent tracking numbers though.
Chris of WV Report post Posted April 12, 2011 Tandy Leather (in my experience, 2 orders) has been very fast for me... The last order I placed on (last, 3 days ago) Saturday, and it's due to come in tomorrow (Wednesday)...
azrider Report post Posted April 12, 2011 I live one state over from Springfield Leather. If I send my order on Wed before work online, my order will typically arrive on Thur afternoon. They send an email with an electronic invoice and a tracking number after the order is proceeded. The amount of time from Tandy depends on the store that gets the order, so can vary a lot.
