Hilly Report post Posted April 27, 2011 I'm toying with the idea of making a hard guitar case (like the one in the Stohlman cases book) for someone very special. I would like to put an unusual twist on the inside of the case, and line it with hair on hide, possibly deer hide. Any opinions? Ideas? Insight? Luke Hatley Report post Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) The hair on the deer hide will start comming out, also the hide is very thick you will have better results with hair on cow hide or calif... Edited April 27, 2011 by Luke Hatley
UKRay Report post Posted April 29, 2011 I'd agree with Luke all the way here, Hilly. My experience of hair on deer hide has been pretty poor at best. Nice looking to start with, but it sheds like there is no tomorrow... Same thing with hair on reindeer (even worse) and goat skin. In addition the hair on goatskin brings some people (like ME) out in unbelievable allergies. Sniff sniff. Had you thought of using some nice soft rabbit skins? Bunny in a box might be a winner... first catch your rabbits! LOL Ray
