siggery Report post Posted May 8, 2011 I could use some advice ! I have purchased some white shoulder hide for my latest project which has arrived kinda "bare" and unfinished on the flesh side (previously the leathers are through-dyed so it's on;y the edges I've had to worry about). I'd really appreciate some advise on what stain / dye / finish to put on the underside and something that is not going to make of mess of nice crips, white leather! Thanks a lot. LNLeather Report post Posted May 9, 2011 Do an advanced search for Dye and/or Antique and you can read for days - lots to learn. At the top of the page is a search box. Click on Advanced and then enter the word dye at the top and then check the As posts option. You will get pages of all posts on that subject... with tons of information. Also any other question you might have, this advanced search option will bring up a lot of informaton about it. You should use some scraps and try dying on them first, before you do your good piece. You could try diluting the dye to start with...
