Modified Leather Holster Question

Has anyone ever taken a used leather holster and re stitched it to fit a light?

The reason I ask is inlike the galco holster I use for my carry gun but I would like to add my tac light. I can get a used one for around 20 bucks and if I take some of the stiching out my light would fit.

Any thoughts? Thanks

FWIW from the grumpy one: I find that attempting to modify any leather item from it's original design is almost always an exercise in futility. It never seems to come out in a satisfactory manner. Mike

could maybe take away from the structural integrity of the holster too depending on the light grantted thats just my 2 cents and cant be exactly sure

Seems like every time I've been asked to midify a holster, I've been able to talk the owner into making a new one all together.

My point is that it will look better, and it's not gonna be the same holster anyway.
