Members Jock54 Posted May 31, 2011 Members Report Posted May 31, 2011 jock54, i am really disappointed at the lack of reply by so many people on this forum, after a new message is posted. I am wanting to find anyone, anywhere, on this forum, who maybe interested in earning some money for the sale of good leather buckles. Maybe, disappointed is not the right word, surprised, does anyone have a reason why, there are many members, and yet so few replies. Would someone like to comment, please, i look forward to meeting and talking on the forum with any anyone? Have a great day/night. jock54. Quote
dirtclod Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 Jock other may be like and not really understand what you want when you say a leather buckle. Do want a buckle made out of leather only ? Or do want a leather covered metal buckle ? Do you have a picture of what you want or something close to it ? Quote
Members BigRiverLeather Posted May 31, 2011 Members Report Posted May 31, 2011 Hello and welcome to the forum. Though I can't help you with the buckle, I might suggest posting this in the tooling/carving section of the forum. It might get more exposure there. Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted May 31, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted May 31, 2011 It could be that this is a holiday weekend, in the US, and people are spending time with friends and family, have gone on vacation, are enjoying the weather, tending to chores, or sleeping late after a long shift. It's pretty arrogant of you to think that ANYONE in this community owes you an immediate response. You posted this thread about disappointment a little over 13 hours after the initial post. Give it some time, as not all the members check this site every few hours. Quote

Perhaps you could elaborate more, using the same amount of effort which you put into blasting us for not responding to something we are unsure of. Try Again! Quote
Members whinewine Posted May 31, 2011 Members Report Posted May 31, 2011 Hello, Jock: I believe that all of us are unsure about what you are trying to communicate. Are you trying to BUY buckles or are you trying to SELL buckles for you/from you? Are they: all leather, leather covered, or what? In my part of the US, for instance, belt buckles (of any sort) are VERY DIFFICULT to sell, because most people will buy a belt with the buckle permanently attached (in other parts of the US, results may be different- I don't know...). In the '70s, buckles were very popular & people would change buckles depending on their moods- the '70s are long, long past, however, around my neck of the woods. [if you are interested in buying leather covered buckles with exotic leather inserts, btw , I have many, many for sale- CHEAPLY- &, I'm sure, others on this forum do also.] Anyway, please clarify. Thanks. russ Quote
Members wildrose Posted June 1, 2011 Members Report Posted June 1, 2011 I did as Jock54 requested in his first post and PM'd him. He explained that he is in Australia and is looking for someone to make belt buckles - and I for one have made several, so I think not everyone buys them solely with belts or permanently attached to belts. Here's Jock's post to me: "wildrose, thank you for the reply to my post, i have only seen pictures of leather buckles, and it seems that a piece of metal is used as a blank, and covered with leather that has a wild animal or a carving of what you like on it. The metal clip is also bought with the other parts as a kit, i understand. I cannot find anyone here in Australia who makes them, the leather shops do not stock them either. If someone makes leather buckles, and would be interested in selling, PM., me. Thank you wildrose for your assistance. Kind regards. jock54." Let's all take a deep breath, and try to help the guy out. Patience on all fronts would be great :-) Quote
Members Southern Gems Leather CO Posted June 6, 2011 Members Report Posted June 6, 2011 Jock54 I know exactly what you want and can get the kits very easily readily available to me. And can carve, tool, color to any specifics given. PM me lets talk further. Quote
