ryan Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I want to make a fancy stitch set of bucking rolls but was curious as to how everyone does them. I have a Singer 111w but I doubt that machine will excel at this type of stitching. I have considered a rollerfoot machine or possibly a 29k? Any comments? Ryan I'm not sure of the thickness of the area of the bucking roll that you want to fancy stitch, but I do have some experience with stitching cowboy boot tops (I studied under custom bootmaker Carl Chappell in Saint Jo, TX.) I use a vintage Singer 31-15 commonly known as a tailors machine with a roller foot. Much beyond the thickness of boot tops and liners and say size 69 thread would be a bit much for this type of machine. I realize this is an older post, but you may want to ask this question on the Sewing Machine thread. Art over there knows his sewing machines. Hope this helps you out some.
