Members SgtGing Posted June 20, 2011 Members Report Posted June 20, 2011 Just finished this double thick belt. Hand stitched in mahogany. Not something I'd do again anytime soon. Quote
Lobo Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 As always, my hat is off to anyone that takes on hand-stitching a belt. I've done it, but I don't want to do it again! Best regards. Quote
Members BigRiverLeather Posted June 20, 2011 Members Report Posted June 20, 2011 I hand stitched holsters for a year and managed to avoid stitching a belt until I got a machine. By doing this you've either proven you are mentally unstable, or you have the patience of a Shaolin Monk. Quote
Members gregintenn Posted June 20, 2011 Members Report Posted June 20, 2011 Nice belt. I've done it, and will probably do it again. However, I do not encourage a customer to order a belt from me. I also find out how far it is around the customer before quoting a price. A 30" belt isn't near the pain a 48" is. Quote
Members jlaudio29 Posted June 21, 2011 Members Report Posted June 21, 2011 Looks great! I hand stitched my first belt... took me 5 hours... never again. I found a Saddle shop that will stitch my belts for $10 .. well worth the money Quote
Members JoelR Posted June 21, 2011 Members Report Posted June 21, 2011 Good looking belt. Took me longer than the others to come to my senses. Did 5 belts (two childres belts and 3 adult belts measuring between 46" and 56" - the childrens belts and two of the adult belts were stitched with a single length of thread ) by hand. After the last, I decided I needed a sewing machine. Now hand stitching a belt is a significant up-charge. Quote
