Looking For Suggestion On Leather Weight To Use

I am getting my first handmade key fob mallet punch this week and looking for a suggestion on the weight of leather others use when making key fobs. Need to make a few for the the folks at the food pantry this year as gifts. Looking forward to your suggestions.

I make mine from 4-5 or 6-7oz depending on what I have in my scrap box. Good luck
