McJeep Report post Posted July 11, 2011 Funny how timing works - saw Chris "spinner" post up his fender bib for his bike with his company logo on it - I happened to have just finished drafting stages of mine and was getting ready to cut cow at the time - just finished dyeing it and thought I'd post up a link while the dye dries, and before oiling etc. Lot's of in progress shots here as I try to get my buds hooked on the "custom" aspect of leatherwork as opposed to buying offshore vinyl stuff at the local bike shop ;0) This link "should" allow all to see https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rampant-Leatherworks/196182280429283 All critique and advice willingly accepted by this noob ;0) Thanks for looking! McJeep Report post Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) Ohhhhhh, I think the sewing machine is gonna add a whole nuther dimension to what I can plan for projects - took forever to find the thread but I like the end result. 7-8 oz tooled (4 coats of beeswax) with 5 oz latigo underneath for bulk and hopefully some water barrier? Also lined it with felt - now for the braiding tomorrow and time to bolt it on. Edited July 13, 2011 by McJeep
McJeep Report post Posted July 18, 2011 All done - not soooo happy with finish but that's another thread ;0) Changed the round braid to "3 holes back" vice 2 - I like the way it tightens the angles up so no leather is visible between the laces.
