Burnishing...oil Tanned Leather?

Had the question come up today; Can Oil Tanned leather be edge burnished like veg-tan? I don't work with oil tanned enough to have tried but from my limited experience I know that edging it doesn't work out quite as well. So, anyone know the answer or have experience with burnishing oil tanned leather?

I've never had any luck burnishing it or any type of chrome tanned leather the few times i tried.
