Phatdaddy Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) Before LW.net I was not involved with any forum to much of a degree so I don't know if there are certain prereqs, protocol or netiquette to meet before adding another member of the forum to your friends list. I've often considered adding someone to my friends list because I really enjoy their posts or products, however, that seems one sided. I don't want to offend anyone. What are your thoughts? Moderator Johanna Posted August 4, 2011 Moderator Report Posted August 4, 2011 The advantage of adding friends is that when you are sending PMs, you can just click on the name. By default, most people automatically accept new friends, but there is an option to approve the names listed in your profile under friends in your control panel. You can also choose to get email notifications if you are added, or if someone wants to add you as a friend. The choice is always up to both members, and a "no" from either one will discontinue the "friends" feature. Having said that, the "friends" feature is not like Face Book, and you will always be able to see posts by members, unless you click "ignore", but that's another topic in itself.
