High Tech Leather Splitter Adjustment

My splitter (that I picked up used) tends to cut straps in half and at an angle if I try to split a long strap. I am assuming that the roller adjustment is off.

Is there a procedure for adjusting the 2 screws on either side of the roller and the blade,, etcx?
