Members DebDemers Posted August 13, 2011 Members Report Posted August 13, 2011 Today I saw someone giving a demo of stitching saddle shearling to leather and instead of using the two needles method he was using a picking needle awl. Looks like a steel crochet hook. Looks easier and quicker to do that method. Unfortunatley, according to him, picking needles are no longer available. Does anyone know where they can be purchased? Are they still manufactured somewhere? Deb Demers Quote
Moderator Art Posted August 13, 2011 Moderator Report Posted August 13, 2011 Hi Deb, Well, Kind of. If you can get your hands on a hook (needle) from a hook and awl machine like a Campbell, Landis, American, Randall, or Union Lock, you put it in an awl haft and should be ready to go. A 1.5 needle for a Campbell is available here.
