RWS6021 Report post Posted August 15, 2011 I was asked to make 12 leather dice cups for a friends wedding as presents for his wedding party. The problem im running into is making the bottom. Im trying to make a flat bottom that also goes 1 in up the side without creating any folds or bends. I guess what im trying to get at is I need some advice or pictures of some kind of way to form a perfect cup shape to cover the bottom. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. amuckart Report post Posted August 15, 2011 What thickness of leather are you using? If you've got reasonably stiff thick leather for the base just cut circles out and sew them in flesh-edge through the base
ChuckBurrows Report post Posted August 15, 2011 Get a copy of AL Stohlman's book - "The Art of Handsewing Leather" - it has a full how-to on making them. IMO ANYONE interested in leather craft should own this book - even after 50 years of working leather I refer to it at times..........
