Members bobkiss Posted August 17, 2011 Members Report Posted August 17, 2011 Hi, I am new to this forum, well I have been a member for a while now, just not actively. Anyhow, I have a customer that wants a holster for a mares leg rifle/pistol (model 92 winchester with cut down barrel and butt stock). The problem I am having is finding a metal clip to hold the pistol in the holster. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted August 17, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted August 17, 2011 Take a look at the pics in this thread: http://leatherworker...showtopic=15961 If you look closely, you'll see that the clip at the bottom is merely to keep the muzzle in place, and the mare's leg is supported by the saddle ring, which is hung on a hook that's somewhat hidden by the receiver. You could fashion that out of just about anything, then cover with leather. (Something like a gate latch comes to mind) If you'll read post #10 in that thread, you'll see the recommendation to tie the muzzle in......if this job is anything other than an replica, I think having a cup for the muzzle might be more secure. Members woodandsteel Posted August 18, 2011 Members Report Posted August 18, 2011 A friend of mine makes a rig like that. He's on the forum here, but I don't know his screenname. http://www.magnolialeatherworks.com/#!__steampunk/productscarousel4=2 Quote
