Members PLHS54 Posted August 25, 2011 Members Report Posted August 25, 2011 Hi everyone! I'm completely new with leather working and I want to make a wallet. I've been looking for a wallet and nothing really catches my eye so I decided to make one. This is where you come in. I have no idea what tools I need, and what kind of leather I should use. I don't want to do any stamping or carving right now. So what are the basic tools I need? What size leather do I need to get? Thanks, Michael Quote
Members Wishful Posted August 25, 2011 Members Report Posted August 25, 2011 There is an abundance of info on this site including a stickie for a biker wallet in Patterns and templates. It really depends on what type of wallet you want to make, etc but do a search for wallet or patterns and you should find lots. Quote

King's X Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 I know that some will disagree, but it worked for me. Buy a kit for several reasons especially if you are new. One would be to have all of the parts ready for you to use. Secondly, you can study what goes into making a wallet and instructions on how to make it. Finally, you can make a pattern to make your next wallet. I have 7 wallets that I have made to include my first kit. I'm just saying.... Quote Greetings from Central Texas!
