spur strap construction

Recommended Posts

:helpsmilie: I am hoplessly lost in leather land. I am making my first pair of spur straps and am trying to figure out how to use a 3 piece buckle set in doing so. I want to make the kind that has the large concho on the outside stap with the buckle below it and a keeper towards the end which the inside strap will run through before buckling. I'm sure I can figure it out using either a formed leather keeper or just cutting two slots but I really want to try it using the metal keeper form the three peice buckle set. I've seen pictures of it done this way but just can't fugure out how they did it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks
