mlapaglia Posted September 9, 2011 Report Posted September 9, 2011 I was given a Craftool F897. Can someone tell me what its purpose is? My thoughts are its a large shader but it would be nice to see its use on a design. Can someone show me its usage in a design? It is an old one with the Craftool Co USA on the shaft. Any information on what its used for would be great. Thanks. Michael Quote The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering. Bruce Lee
Members WyomingSlick Posted September 9, 2011 Members Report Posted September 9, 2011 That is the largest of the six sizes of figure carving bevelers that Craftool made, Basically they are bevelers that are specialized for toolng animals and scenery as used in "figure carving". You are rght in your thinking about shading, as they perform that function as well. Check out any of the figure carving books by Al Stohlman to see how the "Master" used them. Al Stohlman was also the driving force behind their development at Craftool in thge early 1950s. Quote (John 8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. I really appreciate all the info you have given out all over this board. Michael. Edited September 9, 2011 by mlapaglia Quote The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering.
