Using Kydex for upper support in holsters

I am in the process of developing a new holster and wish to use Kydex or a like material for re-enforcement of the top strap on my holsters. Does anyone have any experiance with this product and can you recommend what thick ness I might need in the kydex or even some sources to obtain it by the sheet? Thanks Jerry

^^ a place for online kits. I'm sure there are other suppliers, but this one I see often and have their stuff together which makes it easy to order from.
