Members Haystacker Posted October 28, 2011 Members Report Posted October 28, 2011 Anyone have a gun mold for a Springfield Operator, 4inch with rails? I tried Duncans and Rings. No luck. Thanks, Jeff Quote
Members Shooter McGavin Posted October 30, 2011 Members Report Posted October 30, 2011 I ttok an order for one of these holsters this weekend, now I need to find the gun as well. Worst case, wonder if attaching a rail to a 4" dummy gun would work? Quote

Members Haystacker Posted November 8, 2011 Author Members Report Posted November 8, 2011 Nothing yet. I should bug Ring's. But i think it takes a lot of emails to get them to make a blue gun. Quote
Members Shooter McGavin Posted November 8, 2011 Members Report Posted November 8, 2011 I have a blackhawk railed 5" gun. Wonder if it could be modded to emulate the 4" model somehow. I need to study some pics. Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted November 8, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted November 8, 2011 Don't worry about a rail, just tape a small block of wood or plastic (the right size) to the bottom of the regular blue gun. You shouldn't be molding the exact shape of the rail, just allowing for it's width/height. Mlapaglia molded an M&P and had severe holster lock because he molded tightly to the rail....after smoothing out the inside of the holster, the holster lock was solved. You can always go back after the initial fitting and press in some details with a modeling tool. That way, it LOOKS like it's molded to the rail, but the inside of the holster doesn't hang up on it.
