Singermania Report post Posted November 14, 2011 HI, I'm always looking for new and interesting machines and love to talk about them..... bought a couple of Pearson #6s and a Pearson #2 recently. Also just recieved my Singer 47KSV10..... the head is 6 feet long and there is 4 feet free at the needle, its a zig zig one off macihne for sailmaking. Have also just got in a Singer Model 2 and a couple of model 3-1... all look to be complete, though only one treadle table.... . However I am writing now about a couple of machines I have on the way from Germany, they have large logos on the tables of a couple of lions and a crown, these tables all seem to be on boot/shoe machines.... sometimes on the handwheel they say "patent elastique" or "patent Calibre" Is the the logo for just the table or is it a manufacturer of machines too? Any help would be very much appreciated. I've had a few suggestions for the manufacturer, but I wont say what they are now, just look forward to hearing your ideas. Best Regards Steve

Best Regards Steve Hi Steve, The Elastique and the colibri is old shoe patchers, shoe repair sewing machines patents. The machine on the last picture looks like an old kochs Adler. I think the logo with the lions is a Baer and Kocks, the first logo before the brand Adler, Kochs Adler, Adler nahmaschinewerke.......Adler and Düerkopp Adler. You can read some of the story here if you use Google translator or read German; http://books.google.com/books?id=ml4-46L9EvcC&pg=PA86&dq=kochs+adler&hl=no&ei=UVE_TtiVIMiVswbWtLTLCw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CC8Q6AEwATgo#v=twopage&q=kochs%20adler&f=true . It is from the book " Alte nähmaschinen; Namen, daten , fakten ( Old sewing machines; names; dates; facts) of Peter Wilhelm. And in the needlebar museum you will also find info about this old machines. Good luck. Trox
Singermania Report post Posted November 15, 2011 HI Trox, Thanks for you reply, yes the picture in the book seems to be my machine, it even has a drawing of the little wooden table to convert it to a flatbed machine. Wasn't able to print it though, looks like I have to buy the book if I want that illustration. I think you are right, it must be an old Kochs Adler.... I'll go and have a look at what Neeldebar have. thanks very much Steve
