Good job on the belt! I would be intersted in knowing how you attached "the hair on hide", was it cut out and then glued on to a backing next to your tooled leather?

I cut a strip of the hide and glued it to a belt blank, then cut another strip which I tooled and then sewed on top of both.

Ok, you all will think this is a stupid question, but what do I need to do to get the tooled portions of my projects darker than the rest of the belt or whatever? I know this is probably basic finishing but I have been unable to figure it out and now one ever showed or told me.
