Dwing8 Report post Posted December 6, 2011 Hi everybody! What's a good rule of thumb for determining how long to cut the strands to get the overall length you want on the finished project? I thought I read somewhere one and a half times the OAL you want but that didn't work out too good. KnotHead Report post Posted December 6, 2011 That seems to be a good rule to go by. I use it and have some waste. But then that waste is put to use somewhere else eventually. I always save the biggest pieces of the waste and use it later somewhere else like on button knots and stuff that is not going to take too much to make. B...
