Iwilta Report post Posted January 5, 2012 I seen a photo of a saddle that the seat and the skirts were all one piece. I have never seen one before and can not find it or anything like it again. The fenders came out of a slit in the seat/skirt. It looked nice but more of a ladies saddle. lol Me being a lady I can say that and get away with it! Anyway does anyone know what I am talking about and if so what do they call it? Thanks! Iwilta
Frank Report post Posted January 6, 2012 Are you referring to the Mother Hubbard style saddle? It's actually a 2 piece that is laced down the center with a cut out for the cantle. They refer to this as a mochila. Here are a few photos to see if we are on the same page. I know that Knut on the forum has built one or more of these. BOB BRENNER Report post Posted January 6, 2012 Iwilta The saddle you saw in LCSJ, is Keith Siedel's saddle. He won best of show with the saddle at the Boot and Saddle Makers Round-up last fall. Does not get much better. Bob

The seat, jockeys, rigging and skirts were all one piece. It was a very nice hand tooled custom made saddle and the only one that I have ever seen. Took some picture and was always going to try one but did not get around to it. If the pictures show up I will post them.
