I bought this bracer and now I'm into making my own armor now. I was looking for border ideas and I like this one but I don't know what he would have used. I'm guessing it's a rotary stamp because I can't see a seam. I'm looking for something a beginner could do. I thought about putting this into the reenactment section but borders aren't really armor specific.

To give you some background on my experience: I made a leather bracer as my first project, I'm fairly new to leather but I think I know the basics now. I have started on an armor project, I'm making a breastplate and I'm onto the tooling stage.

It's a Craftool Embossing Wheel. You can check it out here...

There are 5 to choose from and they can be found at the links below...

#8091-01

#8091-02

#8091-03

#8091-04

#8091-05

And, they are interchangable with the Craftool Overstitch Wheel System ! Awesome quick way to embelish an edge!

I met a leatherworker in Scotland who orders from england some sort of imprinting stamp that mount in a press to be pressed on/in. She just drew up whatever she wanted to have and they make it. She had some that was layed out to border specific designs.

She said they were quite thin and fragile (had to be mounted on a thicker metalplate before pressing to prevent cracking) and didn't cost alot.

That's all I know about it.
