Members Kingswarrior Posted March 13, 2012 Members Report Posted March 13, 2012 After looking at some previous posts, I was wondering if the tanning process for rattlesnakes would work on basically any snake skin? How long of a process is it to tan one? I am limited on space, and the smell would be a factor. How much space do I really need and how bad is the smell? Is there a particular kit that stands out or do you prefer the acetone, alcohol and glycerin mixture? Thanks for your help and time. Tree Reaper Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 This would be good stuff. http://www.vandykestaxidermy.com/VRT4-P3860.aspx The skin itself with the tan on won't smell. Quote

Thanks Tree Reaper. The process seems simple enough with their instructions. What about the smell of the solution itself? Will a box fan in a window be adequate for air flow and ventilation when using this? Tree Reaper Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 I don't think there will be any smell to it. I have used that specifically but anything else I've used to date for tanning hasn't been strong smelling. Quote
