dr tom Report post Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) Hi Y'all: Long time lurker, first posting (hope the photos come thru). Recent project: One might call it a "messenger bag", but it's a "tiagh," used for storing and carrying important books. My design is loosely derived from an 8th - 10th century (?) tiagh in the Irish National Museum called the "Satchel of the Breac Moidoig." tk (aka dr tom) (per Rohn: edited to give smaller images) Edited March 16, 2012 by dr tom
Rohn Report post Posted March 16, 2012 Very interesting "tiagh". If you could re-size your photos to about 800x600 pixels it would be easier to see. I re-size mine using the paint program on my computer.
Cogs Report post Posted March 17, 2012 Hi dr tom, I like your tiagh. Love the 'Old' look stain job. I'd like to see more of your work so please post. It IS St. Patricks day, so a good excuse to show your stuff. Here's one I made for my son. Hope you like it. Bill

Cogs Report post Posted March 18, 2012 Nice. Are those Newgrange spirals? tk (aka dr tom) Yes they are. My son took me to Ireland and showed me. He's really into Irish history, tradition and Galic. He even had the scrolls tatoo'd on his back! Bill
