If you put it on too heavy it turns purple. Not sure why but it kinda sucks. I bought green dye not purple. GRRRRRRR Not just on the leather but on my gloves also. Quote Zlogonje Gunleathers

Bill Churchill showed me some leather that changed to a purple color when he had used oxcylic acid (wood bleach) to clean the leather before dyeing. Wonder if this may have happened with your processes.
