Members cappadk Posted March 20, 2012 Members Report Posted March 20, 2012 Anyone know where to find bridle in natural color - ive searched for a long time now but havent been able to find anyone. And also - could someone tell me what the dimensions are of a piece of 25 square feet? I mean how long is it - how do i calculate that? Thanks a lot. Quote
Members celticleather Posted March 21, 2012 Members Report Posted March 21, 2012 Baker's Tannery of Colyton in the UK supply natural (russet) bridle leather (http://www.jfjbaker.co.uk/). The picture below shows the colours available. 25 square feet of leather would probably be a large side of leather, but the square footage would include all the irregular parts of the side. The length would be perhaps 7-8 feet. Quote When everyone is somebody, then no one's anybody
Members cappadk Posted March 21, 2012 Author Members Report Posted March 21, 2012 Thanks Celticleather - i had not thought of them. I actually have 3 samples from them, but none in natural color. Dunno why i didnt ask for samples back then. But i kind of disregarded them as i found them to be a little too expensive. But if there are no other alternatives then i will buy it from them. Do you know if they split and refinsh the flesh side to the desired thickness? Quote
Members celticleather Posted March 22, 2012 Members Report Posted March 22, 2012 Do you know if they split and refinsh the flesh side to the desired thickness? I think they make bridle butts in a variety of weights, but I'm sure they would split to whatever weight you require. No harm in asking . . . drop an email to Andrew Parr.
