That is wonderful work. Did you do a three piece, front, back and spine with a hdden stitch. The spines on the back are incredible. Nice job,

The depth relief is outstanding. What weight leather did you use?

What an honor to repair such a precious book. Nicely done.

A teacher pointed at me with a ruler and said "At the end of this ruler is an idiot." I got detention when I asked "Which end?"

Oh wow! I don't even know where to begin! It's beautiful! How did you finish/dye it Did you make the cover from scratch, or recover an existing one? Where did you even learn such a skill??

Actually, Jimbob, that's the front of the book. Arabic is read from right to left and what we would call back to front. But I agree, it is wonderful carving.

Nice job!

Edited to ask:

Where did you get the beautiful filigree stamps? Or were they custom made for you?

Well aware of this fact, Rod....I am born in Europe,,,,,I have seen my share of arabic writings....I was actually refering to the actuall backbone of the book...not sure what you call that....when you close the book and have it in a shelf...this part you see then ....it just amazed me how deep and three dimensional it is!!

Great work, great craftmanship and I absolutly agree with you on the quality of the work!!

Thanks for your edit..
