Sixer Report post Posted March 26, 2012 I have an order for an XDM .45 compact (3.8in barrel) and I was wondering if I could use my XDM .40 comapct to mold the holster? They appear to be the same size, but i know that some .45 models are slightly larger than their 9mm or .40sw counterparts. Any thoughts or experience with these guns? Thanks! Tac Report post Posted March 27, 2012 The .45 XDm is larger in size. If you pattern and mold the holster for a .40 version, it will be a VERY tight fit, if you can get the .45 in to begin with... Most of the difference between the two is in thickness of the frame and slide... Not a huge difference, but considerable enough, if you sew tight lines and wet mold with detail. -Good luck. Let us know which direction you go and how it turns out. -Tac

I will be sure to leave a bit of extra space on the stich lines and not go too crazy on the molding. HOPEFULLY that works... I know of one way to find out If it doesn't work I'll be sure to let you know.
