Rawhide Tapaderos Pattern

Does anyone know where i can find a pattern for making rawhide taps? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean laced or braided taps? I have a Bruce Grant book and I think that man could make a house out of rawhide, but he doesn't have rawhide taps in it. He has attaching the taps with rawhide, but the taps are made out of regular leather.

You would use a bulldog tap pattern, just use rawhide instead of skirting or sole bends. With the rawhide, you will need to use something to hold the shape while they dry. Some old timers carved a wooden form, or they stuffed them with sand while they dry.

thanks for the advice. started some the other day using bulldog pattern. so far so good.
