Members uncreative Posted July 4, 2012 Members Report Posted July 4, 2012 Does anyone know where i can find a pattern for making rawhide taps? Any help would be appreciated. Quote
Members DoubleC Posted July 5, 2012 Members Report Posted July 5, 2012 Do you mean laced or braided taps? I have a Bruce Grant book and I think that man could make a house out of rawhide, but he doesn't have rawhide taps in it. He has attaching the taps with rawhide, but the taps are made out of regular leather. Quote http://www.etsy.com/shop/DoubleCCowgirl
Members chapper Posted July 9, 2012 Members Report Posted July 9, 2012 You would use a bulldog tap pattern, just use rawhide instead of skirting or sole bends. With the rawhide, you will need to use something to hold the shape while they dry. Some old timers carved a wooden form, or they stuffed them with sand while they dry. Quote
