CountryStyle Report post Posted July 27, 2012 (edited) Well since I'm a cheapo and didn't want to buy a pre made tool rack, I came up with this one. Had a target giftcard, and went down there and bought this magnetic knife holding strip ($17). Put a box together with scrap wood in the garage to hold it at a 45 degree angle and voila. Someday I might get fancy and put another strip on top of that one to double the holding space. If I do that I might have to make bigger feet to prevent it from tipping over. Anywho, this holds the important stamps and a couple of swivels, at an angle that makes the heads easy to see. I should take some pictures of my stamp storage solution, maybe someone will get some use from them. I ended up doing wool fabric over strips of foam in an accordion manner to allow for nonslip slots to slide them into. I didn't want them falling out, but I was still working out how I wanted to do a setup for the tools being used on a current project. I just might have to borrow this idea. Logans Leather Report post Posted July 28, 2012 Great idea for keeping the most used stamps on any project handy. easy to switch them out for different stamps for different projects, and no size restrictions, like with holes in a block. Won't work for Barry King (Brass) or Leather Wranglers (Aluminum) swivel knife barrels though, but some well placed holes in the supporting legs could solve that. The Harbor Freight magnetic racks are nice and strong, but not as shiny and pretty as the ones you used. I have their magnetic tool strips attached to a wrought iron pot-rack hanging over my cutting table. Between the magnets and some forged hooks, i can keep many of my measuring and cutting tools within arms reach above the table, yet safely out of the way of my head when leaning over it.
