Members The Long Forgotten Posted July 29, 2012 Members Report Posted July 29, 2012 Hi all. Ive been lurking around here for a while now and been really inspired by a lot of the work on show. This is my first post and in fact my first leather project. I have a habit of jumping into things blindly and this is no exception. Cant even remember why I choose a quiver as I've never picked up a bow and arrow, but meh, why not? Its all braided with about 25m of leather cord, not a single stitch in there but its solid as a rock. Sheep skin lined for the first 6 inches to cut down on arrow clatter (broke a beard trimmer shaving the sheep down) What do you think? Be as nice or as critical as you like, as a first timer its all good motivation. Quote
Members docntx Posted July 30, 2012 Members Report Posted July 30, 2012 Very nice war bow quiver......I know a lot of archers who would love to have it. Doc in TX Quote
Members cjg Posted July 30, 2012 Members Report Posted July 30, 2012 Very nice, first timer or not your attention to detail is very impressive. Keep up the good work. What's next? Quote
Members The Long Forgotten Posted July 30, 2012 Author Members Report Posted July 30, 2012 Thanks for the comments guys. First off I'll try and flog this quiver to a good home seeing as I'll never use it myself. As for my next project.... well it seems my big ol' grufty beard hasn't actually suffocated the child in me, so I suppose I'll have a go at whatever makes me say "Ahhhh, cool! .....WANT!" Anything Ye olde / military..... the brass and leather works well so maybe something steampunkish, perhaps a mask with one of those electronic cigarettes jimmied into it so it breaths steam....hmmmmm. All in all I wish I'd found leather working twenty years ago :D Quote
Members 4Speedfury Posted February 24, 2013 Members Report Posted February 24, 2013 As an archer myself, I can really appreciate this! That quiver is SICK!!! Quote
Members sepharad Posted April 28, 2013 Members Report Posted April 28, 2013 I think any archer would be proud to wear your work. Nice job. Quote
