Members Liberty Posted August 9, 2012 Members Report Posted August 9, 2012 From the little I can glean from the net I think that this machine is a medium weight machine but I'm not totally sure. I'm hunting for a machine that will do (2 5oz) 10oz's of rigid/dense veg tan for belts and I don't think this can do it, am I correct? At the same time I have heard "here" that motors and servos can make this possible, again...I might be mistaken. This could be an insanely good deal IF this machine is an acceptable machine for the task. I have pics if needed. Thank you! Quote

Techsew Ron Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Great machine but it is designed for sewing garments, not leather. Ron Quote Techsew Industrial Sewing Machines Call toll-free: 866-415-8223 Visit www.techsew.com

Not the same machine eh? http://shop.raphaels...products_id=442 Same machine, it is suitable for sewing garments and some light weight garment leather but really no thicker than that. Members Liberty Posted August 10, 2012 Author Members Report Posted August 10, 2012 One would think that a machine in an ad that is being touted as a "leather sewing machine" would actually be sewing leather and not cloth/vinyl...just sayin. Quote
Techsew Ron Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 One would think that a machine in an ad that is being touted as a "leather sewing machine" would actually be sewing leather and not cloth/vinyl...just sayin. The description states "This machine is suitable for general garments, lightweight leather, canvas, vinyl." So if you're sewing garment leather or even chaps, this machine would be fine. If you're looking to sew thicker leather, you'll need a walking foot machine. Thanks, Ron Quote Techsew Industrial Sewing Machines Call toll-free: 866-415-8223 Visit www.techsew.com

Thanks, Ron Thanks Ron, One more question, if I may? In the pics I posted is there any way to tell if it is a walking foot machine? The fellow I talked to on the phone did say it was a walking foot machine but I'll add that he knows less about it than I do and I'm purely going from hearsay. Quote
