Members Dirck Posted August 21, 2012 Members Report Posted August 21, 2012 Newest Phone case...approximately 3oz horse butt, Wet Molded over a plastic blank I made. Second wet mold piece and I like the process. Stud for a closure. USMC black and Satin Sheen water proofing. Once finished the horse butt makes a very hard shell I'm having trouble recessing the stitching in such light weight leather. I assume I might have to go to a lighter/finer thread. Quote
MikeG Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 Nice small case! Are you trying to gouge the leather for your stitching? Since you are wet forming, have you thought about "molding" a stitch groove using something like a dull chisel or even the edge of a windshield wiper insert or a stiff wire and stamping your groove into the leather? I've never used horse butt, guess I'll need to look into it! -- Mike Quote
