Rayban Report post Posted August 31, 2012 I know hard rolled is gonna make for a stiffer belt, but does soft rolled still make a good one? I got some really nice strips in from Mavericks....cleanest and full of figuring I've ever received from a supplier....but it's soft rolled (my bad, It slipped by me in the ordering process).... Some people expect a horsehide belt to stand up in a corner...these certainly will not be doing that, but do they still make good support, for carrying? I would like to hear from those having experience using soft rolled for belts. Thanks!!
JRCHolsters Report post Posted August 31, 2012 I have used both. I prefer the hard rolled. That said, even though the soft rolled belts were not nearly as rigid, they do support the weight of the gun nicely.
Itch Report post Posted August 31, 2012 I would try to double stitch a piece and see how much firmer it is..
Rayban Report post Posted September 1, 2012 I would try to double stitch a piece and see how much firmer it is.. Good idea...most of the belts I make are double stitched....I don't think soft rolled will be a deterrent, but I'll be sure to order hard rolled for now on
