Members CountryStyle Posted September 1, 2012 Members Report Posted September 1, 2012 So my wife bought a cuttlebug and I decided I would run a piece of leather through it. It is 3-4 oz med grade import from SLC, run through the cuttlebug with an embossing folder (after being cased). Finished with eco flo all in one desert tan, then fiebings black antique on top. I don't want to start embossing all my work, but I figured this could be good for making small journals or notepads for quick and easy sales, while I work on other stuff. Or maybe leather Christmas presents/cards. Quote
Members Kustom Posted September 1, 2012 Members Report Posted September 1, 2012 That came out nice. Can you make your own designs with a Cuttlebug? Quote
Members CountryStyle Posted September 1, 2012 Author Members Report Posted September 1, 2012 That came out nice. Can you make your own designs with a Cuttlebug? I think you can, but I haven't looked too far into it yet. Did a rough search about it and it seems like there are ways, but not sure about what tools to use to do it. Quote
Members WinterBear Posted September 1, 2012 Members Report Posted September 1, 2012 I'm intrigued. Seems to me that you could trim that out, or portions of it, and use it as decorative sewn-on elements. Quote
Members WScott Posted September 1, 2012 Members Report Posted September 1, 2012 Interesting If one had a bit of mechanical ability I bet one could make a hand crank embossing machine without relying that machine and its paraphernalia Quote
Members Wishful Posted September 1, 2012 Members Report Posted September 1, 2012 (edited) Thanks for sharing. I was considering the cuttlebug or similar to cut out shapes but I sure like the embossing technique. So what model number or type is it specifically? Edited September 1, 2012 by Wishful Quote
Members DoubleC Posted September 1, 2012 Members Report Posted September 1, 2012 I think it's so cool. Sure wish I knew what a cuttlebug was. Guess it's time for google :-) Really nice, Cheryl Quote
