Members smokiedabong Posted October 12, 2012 Members Report Posted October 12, 2012 I am trying to dye some veg tan to a color similar to the strap in this pic, but I have 0 experience with dyes. Can anyone please give me an advice on what dyes to use? I tried a bunch of different combinations but no good result came out of it and I really don't want to spend more money on dyes that I won't use. Quote

Members Cyberthrasher Posted October 24, 2012 Members Report Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) I could see the possibility of getting that color with black and saddle tan. I might use something with a little more brown in it to start with, like light brown or even mahogany. Whatever you use as a base, just add a couple of drops of black at a time to darken it up. I'd say something like a 20:1 ratio. Edited October 24, 2012 by Cyberthrasher Quote
