RMB Custom Leather Report post Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) I currently have a Tippmann 15 ton clicker which I like but I have a few dies that it just will not cut and yes I have sharpened my dies. I am looking to upgrade to the Cobra clicker however it is listed at 10 ton. Although there are a lot of features to the Cobra I like ( i.e. swing arm, larger cutting area) I am concerned with it only being 10 ton. Is there anyone out there that has first hand experiences with these two machines? Did the Cobra cut better, have more power due to it being hydraulic etc.? Art Report post Posted November 25, 2012 I have had both, the Tippmann works fine, but is not any type of fast and alignment is a bit tricky. I have never had a problem with any die in the Cobra, and a couple of times I did some gang clicking (multiple layers) with pretty hard leather and the only problem was getting the leather out of the die. I have a 25 ton air hydraulic press (home made) but have never had to use it for die cutting. I imagine you could make a die it would have trouble with, but not in my experience. If you are worried, send me a die and I will test it for you. Art
awharness Report post Posted December 2, 2012 art how big of dies are you using on the 10 ton cobra clicker?
Art Report post Posted December 2, 2012 Thirty to Thirty-five inches around the outside and as many as five #7 holes. I click 9 oz latigo and sometimes I double up, but only with big wide-open dies, the smal intricate ones are hell to get one piece out of, nevermind 2.
