trekster Report post Posted November 27, 2012 I understand this "bench top" machine has been out for about 6 months. Wondering if anyone has actually used one, or maybe seen one at a trade show. If I'm not mistaken it comes with about the same specs as the Toro 3200. It is a little more expensive than a Toro 3000, but would not take up near the floor space. Wonder if it handles 3/4" of veg tanned leather?
mikesmith648 Report post Posted November 27, 2012 I have not seen or used one. However the literature says will work on 12 volt with an inverter. Will also, as stated in their literature, see 9/10 of an inch thick of leather.

If it does, what would be the advantage of an upright machine?
Art Report post Posted November 27, 2012 Almost any 110 v machine will run on 12v with an inverter. For the very space conscious, a machine like this might be a consideration. I have a problem with the portability part of it as the machine is very heavy and when you add the battery and motor, it becomes in my opinion too heavy. It is a 441 subtype, so everything is standard parts except the shafts. If it was my druthers, I would get the machine on a stand. If you REALLY NEED the portability, it might be better to just put your machine on the stand in the back of the pickup. Also, the 16.5" 441 clone would be a better choice IMHO.
