Members AMMO Posted December 10, 2012 Members Report Posted December 10, 2012 Just finished up this Jack Daniels themed "Snuff Pouch", as I call them, for the Christmas order. Quote

IngleGunLeather Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 That finish is bad ass. Can you summarize what you did? Quote
Members AMMO Posted December 11, 2012 Author Members Report Posted December 11, 2012 That finish is bad ass. Can you summarize what you did? Well, I dyed all the black parts black first, then I covered the whole thing with Fiebings Tan Antiquing Paste using a piece of sheep wool to apply. After letting it sit for a half hour or so I use a paper towel to wipe the antique paste away from the areas I don't want it. Of course, that never works to perfection so I just go back and dab a little antique paste here and there in the spots I want it, then when that dries a little I use a clean piece of sheep wool to better smooth the antiquing. After that you have to carefully apply your finish making sure not to smear the antiquing from any areas you don't want to. Then let it dry and stitch her together. After assembled I put another coat of super sheen and then a coat of that aussie finish on it as well. I hope that wasn't too much detail. Oh, I forgot to say I used super sheen as a resistor before I applied the antiquing. Quote
IngleGunLeather Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Thanks Ammo. I need to find me a project now to apply those steps. Again, great work. Quote
