I found a stamp on etsy, and the actual stamp "blade" if you will is made out of brass. Does anyone have any experience with brass? I would suppose that it's much easier to mar the stamp if you were to pound it into something hard, but other than that I can't imagine much of a difference. I just want to know what yall think.

Brass is still much softer than damp leather, and use a rawhide, or wood mallet-no metal.

You laugh at me because I am different. I laugh at you because you are all the same.

Is the guy in Packistan or something like that? If so his tools are good quality.

Brass is soft but harder than the metal Tandy tools are made from. It is expensive so most would not choose it.

Czech Republic. Just the end of the tool is brass, but I'll be using a poly maul anyway.

A KiposArt leather stamp? I've bought the wolf track from them from ebay before they started their etsy shop. I have had no issues at all, and I've used it quite a bit. Brass is softer than tool steel, but plenty hard enough to stamp leather as long as I'm careful enough not to hammer too hard.

I used to be an Eagle, a good ol' Eagle too...

Our stamps are made of brass and they are absolutely fine using a poly maul as John mentioned.
