Members Loretta Posted December 23, 2012 Members Report Posted December 23, 2012 my question is prompted by 2 different things: 1. When I was applyling blockout resist, I accidently used a brush that had some black dye on it, so the resist has some streaks in it. 2. If I want to dye several colors, can I use the resist on everything but the first color, dye that color, then remove the resist on a portion and dye that section? Quote
Members mikesmith648 Posted December 24, 2012 Members Report Posted December 24, 2012 try using liquid latex for that....i don't think block will work like what I think you are wanting...also to remove the block out try deglazier Quote
Members JustKate Posted December 24, 2012 Members Report Posted December 24, 2012 Block Out actually is a liquid latex. I just went and tried your deglazer suggestion, and it does work. (The deglazer I use is acetone.) Quote
Members mikesmith648 Posted December 24, 2012 Members Report Posted December 24, 2012 if it is liquid latex, it should just rub off or lift off Quote
Members JustKate Posted December 24, 2012 Members Report Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) That was the first thing I tried. The liquid latex I use is quite a bit thicker and stays more on the surface. But block out is very thinned down so the first coat absorbs into the leather quite a bit.
